Whitehall Group lunch with the former Lord Mayor, Alderman Vincent Keaveny – ‘The outlook for the City of London’
Following our recently postponed Lord Mayor lunch event we are delighted to have been offered an alternative date and we are delighted that the former Lord Mayor, Alderman Vincent Keaveny will be joining Whitehall Group members and guests for lunch on Thursday, 15th December. During lunch the former Lord Mayor will be discussing “The outlook for the City of London”.
Alderman Vincent Keaveny took office as the 693rd Lord Mayor of the City of London in November 2021. His theme for his Mayoral year is “People and Purpose: investing in a better tomorrow”.
Vincent is a partner in the international business law firm, DLA Piper. He advises on finance and capital markets transactions in the UK and across Europe. Until May 2019 he served as International Co-Chair of the Financial Services Sector at DLA Piper. He was President of the City of London Law Society in 2014/15.
Vincent has served as an Alderman of the City of London since 2013. He was Sheriff of the City of London for 2018/19 and is currently a member of a number of City Corporation committees including the Policy & Resources Committee. He chairs Progress Together, the recently launched membership body for the financial services sector, promoting greater socio-economic diversity at senior levels in the industry. He is also a trustee of the Sir John Soane’s Museum, chairs the board of the vocal ensemble, EXAUDI, and is a director of Actors Touring Company.
Vincent is a graduate of University College Dublin (BCL, 1986) and received a MLitt from Trinity College, Dublin in 1989. He was recognised as UCD’s Law Alumnus of the Year in 2018. City, University of London conferred a DSc (honoris causa) on Vincent in February 2022.

The Whitehall Group is a high level policy discussion and thought leadership group whose members are mainly Cambridge alumni or those connected with the University of Cambridge. The Whitehall Group, a forum of the Cambridge University Land Society (CULS) hosts a series of lunches and dinners for approximately 15 – 20 attendees under the Chatham House Rules. The forum allows members and their guests to meet and discuss matters that are outside of their regular business / professional lives. We count amongst our members and supporters current and former Ministers, Diplomats and senior business executives. Past speakers have included Ambassadors, Ministers, Commissioners and leading academics and journalists. Speakers are invited to talk to the group on a current subject of political or economic interest.
