Appointment of new Treasurer at the AGM

A new Treasurer, Erik Ruane, was appointed Honorary Treasurer at the AGM on Friday 8th July, succeeding Dominc Reilly, who has taken the role of the President of the Society.

Erik is Partner, Head of Development at Europa Capital LLP, responsible for both developments and Environmental & Sustainability matters.  He is a member of the senior management team and sits on the Investment Committee of one Europa Fund.   Erik graduated from Gonville & Caius College in 1982, before starting his career as a graduate surveyor at Weatherall Green & Smith (now evolved into BNP Paribas Real Estate).  Before working with Europa from March 2001, Erik was a director of the principal development subsidiaries at Development Securities PLC (now U+I plc) where he worked for eight years and prior to that, at Imry Merchant Developers PLC for three, both with responsibilities for a number of large scale commercial developments.    Erik is a Member of the RICS.  He is also a member of ULI and active in the ULI European Sustainability Council.  Erik holds a Master’s degree in Land Economy from Cambridge University.
