Past President Cycling from Land’s End to John o’ Groats for Charity

Society members may be interested to hear that past President John Symes-Thompson is shortly to cycle over 1200 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats in May using the Sustrans route  – this will be way out of his comfort zone as it includes over 52,000 feet of ascent in total!

John is fundraising for Practical Action which is an amazing charity supporting people in undeveloped countries such as Kenya where he was born and brought up. They are specialists in intermediate technology helping farmers improve their yields, providing villages with clean water sources and using solar power to provide water pumps and lighting where they are off grid.
