CULS University Challenge – Results of the first Quarter Final

10 February 2022

The first quarter-final of the CULS University Challenge for 2022 took place on Tuesday evening, a poignantly appropriate day as it had been announced that very sadly Bamber Gascoigne had passed away, thus glasses were raised in his memory. The team of Caius, Girton & St Catz beat the team from Magdalene, Wolfson & Peterhouse by a convincing score of 300 to 105 points. Magdalene never recovered from a slow start and the high aggregate score hopefully indicates that the intellectual ability of the contestants has improved in the running of this contest for a third time, rather than the questions becoming easier.

The next quarter-final between Clare/St Edmunds and Robinson/Pembroke is at 6 PM on Tuesday, 22 February.
