This international conference is global in outlook and this year and will have a particular focus on ‘Successful Cities of the Future’ with an emphasis on how data and technology might impact on urban economic performance, transport, housing and real estate investments.
The Keynote speaker Professor Chris Webster will talk about the issues in integrating technology into the design and management of cities, neighbourhoods and buildings drawing on urban economics, urban science and built environment studies. Other sessions will look at transport solutions, housing solutions and issues for real estate investors and city planners in thinking about how cities and buildings will need to adapt. There will also be short presentations by 8 prizewinning PhD students on their latest research into topics relating to future cities ranging from looking at engineered housing solutions in the UK, to the impact of design on quality of life and crime, and from land value capture to spectrum security.
