This year has been a challenging one for all property markets, and the residential sales market is no exception. After a bumper few years to 2022, interest rates are now acting as a brake on pricing. On the flip side, demand in the rental sector remains extremely strong. CULS’ residential forecasts event will examine what’s ahead for the market in 2024 and beyond, and how market dynamics, policy and the economic backdrop will affect capital values, rents, yields and the wider property landscape in the coming years.

Lucian leads a team of 31 researchers, who cover everything from social housing to the prime markets of central London and development land to residential Investment. He has been at Savills since 1993 and a director of the research team since 2007. He is one of the most quoted commentators on the UK housing market.

Andrew Saunderson – Head of UK Residential Capital Markets,CBRE
Andrew joined CBRE to lead the Residential Capital Markets team in January 2022. Prior to joining CBRE, he was the Investment Director at Grainger plc, the UK’s largest listed residential landlord. In a career spanning 20 years, Andrew played a pivotal role in the growth of Grainger’s Build to Rent business which now comprises over 10,000 operational units alongside a development pipeline of c.8,000 homes.
Andrew’s main responsibilities were leading both the acquisitions and the asset management teams resulting in an unrivalled detailed understanding of the investment in and operating of Build to Rent assets. Having overseen the operational asset management of thousands of homes, Andrew has a thorough understanding of what drives operational excellence whilst achieving strong recurring investor returns
Andrew was also a member of Grainger’s Management Committee, their Executive Committee and Investment Committee. He was also a Board Director of the Grainger/TFL Joint Venture vehicle – Connected Living London.
Andrew Wishart – Senior Economist, Capital Economics
Andrew Wishart runs Capital Economics’ UK Housing service. Having joined Capital Economics via the graduate scheme in 2015, Andrew spent three years working on the UK Economics service before joining the property team to cover the UK housing market. Prior to joining Capital Economics, Andrew worked in the Macroeconomic Analysis team at HM Treasury covering GDP and inflation. Andrew holds a Master’s degree in Economic History from the London School of Economics and an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Surrey.
Adina David – Executive Director at MGT Investment Management
Adina David is Executive Director at MGT Investment Management where she is responsible for leading the company’s rental living strategy, growing the firm’s residential portfolio.
Adina has over 13 years of industry experience. Before joining MGT, Adina was Director of Urban Living at Greystar, where she was responsible for consolidating their global strategy around the development and acquisition of urban living assets. Prior to this, Adina worked in acquisitions of UK BTR and shared living developments at Greystar and The Collective. Notable projects include the world’s tallest modular building, Ten Degrees, which opened in Croydon in 2021. Prior to joining Greystar in 2016, Adina worked in acquisitions and asset management for Dermot, a residential company in New York. She started her career in commercial real estate with Knight Frank in Bucharest in 2010.
Adina is the Founder of Ladies in Real Estate, a 3,000+-member networking group, and Co-founder of Doyenne, a road cycling club for women in property, with both groups supporting LandAid’s Networks Against Homelessness initiatives. Adina is a Member of ULI UK’s Residential Council Steering Committee and a supporter of their UrbanPlan programme.
Eleanor McMillan – Principal, Terra Firma Capital Partners
Eleanor has over 20 years of experience in real estate investment. Eleanor is a Principal at Terra Firma Capital Partners, where she focuses on their residential businesses and new real estate opportunities. In the UK Terra Firma’s investments include Richborough, a leading land promotion business, the housebuilders Tilia and Hopkins Homes and Annington Homes, one of the largest residential landlords.
Before Terra Firma Eleanor spent eleven years within Savills plc. Most recently, Eleanor worked on the establishment of European living platform for Savills Investment Management. This involved setting up a European Living Fund, a UK PRS Fund and an UK Affordable Housing Fund. Prior to this, Eleanor was a senior director in Savills’ Operational Capital Markets division, where she acted for both institutions investing in residential build-to-rent assets, and developers securing funding. Eleanor has led the sourcing, financial appraisal, structuring and underwriting of over £3.5 bn of residential deals.
Eleanor was part of the working group that produced the RICS guidance note entitled ‘Valuing residential property purpose built for renting’ (1st edition, July 2018). She has an MA (Hons) in Land Economy from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge and is a member of the Cambridge University Land Society Residential Forum.
