Westminster City Council set up the Independent West End Commission to work towards a long term strategic framework to ensure that the West End meets the future needs of residents, businesses, communities and visitors alike while continuing to occupy its vital place within London and in the global economy.
Sir Howard Bernstein has been Chief Executive of Manchester City Council since 1998 and was instrumental in the rebuilding and regeneration of Manchester City Centre following the terrorist bombing in 1996. He was central to the introduction of Manchester’s ground breaking metro link transport system and to Manchester’s successful bid for the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
Sir Howard is an engaging speaker and has been challenged by Westminster to bring his knowledge and experience to London. He will provide an update on the progress of the West End Commission.
