Venue: | Mapledurham Estate |
Saturday 12 April
Morning – welcome and introduction by Jack Eyston and coffee at Mapledurham at 10.30am, followed by a tour of the grounds of Mapledurham House, including the watermill and water turbine, and Mapledurham Village, which remains largely unaltered since the 18th century.
Lunch, with Jack Eyston, will follow at 1pm at Caversham Heath Golf Club.
The afternoon will include a tour of Mapledurham House itself.
After travelling by car to Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, we will gather at 7:30pm in the Old Library for a drinks reception, followed by dinner at 8:00pm in the Jerwood Room (dress: black tie).
Sunday 13 April
Unusually for a Spring Break, we will wake up on the Sunday morning in a beautiful University town – possibly the second most beautiful in England. For that that reason, we have not planned any Sunday activities: members and their guests are free, after breakfast, to enjoy Oxford.
This promises to be an excellent Spring Break, easily accessible from London, and we expect it to be fully booked very quickly. We are limited to a maximum of 40 people.
We hope that members and their guests will be keen to come for the whole weekend, but, if you are unable to do so, you are welcome to join us at Mapledurham during the day or at LMH for drinks and dinner.
The cost per person, including accommodation, will be £213.60. If you are not able to make the whole weekend, the costs per person for the constituent parts are as follows:
Mapledurham tour: £24
Caversham Health Golf Club lunch (excl. drinks): £24
LMH – drinks reception and dinner: £66
LMH – bed and breakfast: £99.60
All prices include VAT.
Please book directly with Ali Young at the Society Office, details above, by Friday 14 March 2014.
Full details and timings will be sent out when your booking is confirmed.
