The UK has seen a spectacular increase in investment from Asian capital in recent years particularly from Korean investors and an increasing focus from other jurisdictions including Hong Kong, Singapore, China and Malaysia. The highly respected panellists will discuss the attractiveness of the UK as a target jurisdiction for Asian capital now including in light of COVID 19 and ongoing Brexit trade negotiations.
Dr Justin Chiu – Executive Director, CK Asset Holdings
Chiu Kwok Hung, Justin is an Executive Director and an Executive Committee Member of the CK Group. Mr. Chiu has more than 40 years of international experience in real estate in Hong Kong and various countries. Mr. Chiu is a Fellow of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He is a Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation, a Senior Visiting Fellow of the Department of Land Economy at University of Cambridge, an Honorary Professor of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Sun Yat-sen University and an Adjunct Professor in the School of Business of Hong Kong Baptist University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Economics, and was conferred with the degree of Doctor of Social Sciences, honoris causa by Hong Kong Baptist University and the degrees of Doctor of Laws, honoris cause by Trent University, Canada.
Sue Lin Heng – Managing Director, Eastdil Secured
Ms. Heng is a Managing Director with the London offices of Eastdil Secured. She has almost 20 years working experience in the multihousing and hospitality real estate sector in both investment sales and corporate advisory services. She has sold over $20bn worth of real estate across Europe and Asia, and her current responsibilities also include managing client relationships with key Asian buyers and facilitating cross border capital flows. Ms. Heng is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese and various Chinese dialects. She holds MBAs with Columbia Business School in the US and London Business School in the UK.
Ms. Heng holds MBAs with Columbia Business School in the US and London Business School in the UK. She also holds a Bachelor of Business (Hons) from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, with a specialisation in Hospitality and Tourism Management.
Eric Yau Siu Kei, Chief Strategy officer – The Link REIT
Mr Eric Yau is Chief Strategy Officer of Link, oversees the development, communication, execution and sustainment of corporate strategic initiatives as well as all functions covering external affairs, stakeholder management and strategy, including corporate affairs and marketing, investor relations, sustainability and corporate finance. He is one of the responsible officers of Link for the purpose of the SFO and a director of a number of subsidiaries of Link. Mr Yau joined Link in November 2010 initially with the Investment team responsible for merger and acquisition and the formulation of the corporate sustainability strategy. Prior to joining Link, Mr Yau worked as an investment banker and corporate manager in DBS Asia Capital, CLP Holdings, UBS Investment Bank and Jardine Fleming. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MA from Harvard University, and a BA from Brown University.
Raymond Kwok – Senior Investment Director, Nan Fung
Raymond C W Kwok is the Senior Investment Director for the International Property Department at Nan Fung Group, focusing on the Group’s real estate investment activities in overseas markets. Before joining Nan Fung, he was working in the acquisitions team at Lehman Brothers Real Estate Partners. Mr. Kwok also worked as an architectural designer at Skidmore Owings & Merrill in New York. He obtained a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University and MBA from Harvard Business School.
Oliver Watt – Cross Border Investment, Savills
Oliver is a Director in Savills specialist department helping clients invest outside of their domestic markets, across a variety of sectors and geographies. Specialisms include producing asset/investment management and acquisition/disposal advice to a number of various funds, property companies and private investors. Involved in over £4bn of transactions since joining Savills from JLL in 2016 including various purchases of investment buildings in London for Hong Kong clients. 16 years industry experience in both London and Hong Kong.

James Lai – Chair of Asia Pacific Forum
James Lai is an Associate Director in CallisonRTKL’s London office. He is a LEED Certified architect who has been involved in designing large-scale mixed-use projects in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. James sits on the RIBA Membership Eligibility Assessment Panel, RIBA International Validation Board and RIBA Award Judging Panel.
James is on the Cambridge University Land Society committee and Vice-Chair of the Cambridge Whitehall Group. James is the Co-Chair of Urban Land Institute UK NEXT Group and sits on the ULI Executive Committee. He is also acting as a member of the Wandsworth Council Design review panel and a frequent Guest critics at various Universities in the UK.
