Paul Brundage, Executive Vice President and Senior Managing Director – Europe at Oxford Properties Group, established their London office in late 2008 and now manages the office in addition to developing and executing Oxford’s strategy for continued growth in Europe.
Established in 1960 in Toronto, Canada, Oxford Properties Group is now a global real estate investor, developer and manager, with over 1,400 employees and approximately $22 billion of assets under management, in distinguished portfolios in the office, retail, industrial, multi-family and hotel sectors.
Oxford’s shareholder is OMERS, the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System, which is one of Canada’s largest pension plans. OMERS was established in 1962 as a pension plan for employees of municipal governments, school boards, libraries, police and fire services, Children’s Aid Societies, and other local agencies throughout Ontario. Funded by contributions and investment earnings, the OMERS pension plan has approximately 420,000 active and retired members and 947 participating employers.
With a mandate to maximise value while prudently managing risk, Oxford invests in and manages real estate assets on behalf of OMERS. By providing quick access to capital, OMERS provides Oxford with a significant competitive advantage.
Being in London every day has given Oxford a front-row seat to the changes taking place in the European and world markets, and amongst other things enabled Oxford’s historic tie-up with the Crown Estate. Paul Brundage will be sharing his insights into Oxford’s plans for 2014 and beyond.
