Panellists:
Peter Allen, Executive Director, Operational Capital Markets, Savills.
Peter is currently head of Savills UK and Europe operational capital markets. He joined the company in 2001 and currently sits on the Savills UK board. Peter has extensive knowledge of the processes involved in investment and development in the private rented sector. He has an intimate understanding of how real estate assets can be actively managed to produce optimum returns for his clients.
Stafford Lancaster, Investment Director, Delancey
Stafford Lancaster has particular responsibility for Delancey’s residential investment and educational portfolios. His role is to oversee and implement the company’s existing, ongoing and future investment and development strategies. He is also responsible for managing a number of the group’s joint ventures with investors such as Qatari Diar Real Estate and APG. Prior to joining Delancey in 2000, he spent 11 years at Healey & Baker (now Cushman & Wakefield) where he was a Partner in the central London investment team. During this time he advised a wide range of UK and overseas investors and occupiers on sales, purchases, sale and leasebacks, lease surrenders, re-lettings, refurbishments and development transactions. Stafford is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He is Chairman of the Residential Special Interest Group of the Investment Property Forum and is a Trustee of the Reading Real Estate Foundation at Henley Business School.
Iliya Blazic, Chief Investment Officer, iQ Student Accomodation
Iliya has over twenty years’ experience in the real estate sector across investment and development. Iliya joined iQ as Managing Director in 2015 following eight years in the Wellcome Trust investment team.
Nick Edwards, Chief Financial Officer, Moorfield
Nick joined Moorfield in 2008 and sits on the Main and Operational Boards as well as the Investment Committee as Chief Financial Officer. Nick is responsible for all aspects of our financial strategy, debt relationships, financial and management reporting, and the finance team. He also oversees Moorfield’s approach to risk management, which includes IT. Nick qualified as an ACA with Arthur Andersen, where he worked in the Corporate Treasury Consulting team advising listed companies on their foreign exchange, interest rate and cashflow risk management. He then spent three years in Corporate Finance at Deutsche Bank where he was involved in a number of transactions across the IT and Business Services sectors. After leaving Deutsche Bank and before joining Moorfield in 2008, Nick worked at Xchanging plc where among other roles he was the Finance and Commercial Director of Xchanging’s 2,000 person insurance outsourcing business across the UK, US and India, where as well as Finance he oversaw HR, Legal and Property teams, and negotiated and structured complex outsourcing arrangements. Nick sits on the main board of Audley Retirement Villages and is the Chairman of the BPF Finance Committee.
Camil Yazbeck is Partner and Investment Director – Hospitality & Leisure, Patron Capital
Patron Capital is a Pan-European private equity real estate investor, representing €3.4 billion of capital across several funds and related co-investments.
Patron’s Past & Current Hospitality Platforms consist of 60+ multi-branded hotels spread across 13 countries, including Generator Hostels, Luxury Family Hotels, Jupiter Hotels, The Spencer Hotel Dublin, Staybridge Suites, Hotel Arts Barcelona, the Bratislava Carlton hotel and 3 Linder Hotels in Switzerland. Patron’s strategy is to back local partners and management teams in growing their respective business.
Camil leads all aspects of origination, acquisition, underwriting, execution and asset management of new and existing investment opportunities in Patron’s hospitality sector investments. Prior to joining Patron, Camil spent over 20 years in the hospitality industry, focusing on all aspects of hotel operations in a variety of roles throughout the world. He held several senior positions with international hotel companies, including Regional and Operations Director, Group and Area General Manager. He acquired extensive experience moving up the ranks in hotel operations, in hotel pre-openings as well as the extended stay hotel market, within independent and branded hotels including Le Meridien, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Mercure, Best Western, The Ascott Group, Citadines and Staybridge Suites.
Camil earned his MBA from IMHI – Cornell University and ESSEC School of Management, and his French Diploma in Hotel Management from the Lycée Hôtelier Château Bellerive (Grenoble Academy, France).
Registration and breakfast are from 7.45am onwards, together with breakfast. The panel discussion starts at 8.15am, and will be followed by questions and answers.
