Rural Forum Estate Visit To Squerryes Estate and Titsey Estate – Postponed with new date to follow.

After the success of its visit last year to the Eaton Estate, Cheshire, the Rural Forum is delighted to invite you to a visit on Saturday 11 October to the neighbouring Squerryes Estate in Kent and Titsey Estate in Surrey, both in the North Downs.

Squerryes is a mixed estate which has been the home to eight generations of the Warde family for nearly 300 years.  Squerryes Court will be familiar to viewers of Bridgerton.  The Estate’s most prominent diversification project is its vineyard and restaurant:  English Winery & Vineyard Sevenoaks, Kent

Our visit may coincide with the vendange.

The Titsey Estate came into the ownership of the Leweson-Gower family in the early nineteenth century: Home – Titsey Place

The Titsey Estate Company is the majority shareholder in the Titsey Brewing Co & Taproom:  Titsey Brewing Co. & Taproom – Crafting Refreshing Ales & Lagers!

The programme for the visit (subject to final timings) will be as follows:

10:15: meet at Squerryes for

10:30: vineyard tour and tasting, with Henry Warde (owner)

12:00: opportunity to purchase wine at the Cellar Door

12:30: into cars to

12:45: Titsey Brewing Co & Taproom for lunch

14:00: introduction to the Titsey Estate by Florence Wolfe-Jones of Strutt & Parker (Christ’s, 2007)

18:30: Cork Room and Tasting Bar at Squerryes for pre-dinner drinks

19:00: Dinner:  The Cork Room, Squerryes – © Squerryes Winery

The Estates are easily accessible from the M25 (junctions 5 and 6) and Sevenoaks station (10 minutes by taxi to Squerryes).  Places are limited to 30.    All members are welcome.

The ticket price includes tastings, lunch and dinner.  The price includes VAT.

Owing to different requirements, accommodation will be left to attendees to arrange.  The Landing Hotel, Biggin Hill, at the top of the North Downs, is recommended by the Squerryes Estate, not least as you might see one or more of 15 Spitfires taking off and landing from your bedroom window:  https://thelandinghotel.co.uk/

The booking code for a 10% discount is SQUERRYES_TLH.  Please note that we are not able to reserve places, but at the current time there are rooms available.
