Annual CEO talk given by Mark Allan, Chief Executive Landsec

Drawing on his personal journey into the sector, Mark Allan, CEO of Landsec, will reflect on the experiences that have shaped his career, his approach to leadership and his perspective on the opportunities and challenges facing real estate today.

Against a backdrop of economic uncertainty, changing customer expectations and a rapidly evolving policy environment, Mark will share his views on the market and what it takes to lead successfully through periods of profound change and disruption. He will unpack Landsec’s current strategy and the choices required to position the business for long-term success, alongside the capabilities that enable property companies to win in an increasingly competitive and challenging environment, from capital allocation and operational excellence to customer focus, sustainability and the need to adapt at pace.

Mark Allan has been Chief Executive of Landsec since April 2020. Prior to that he spent a combined
14 years as CEO of FTSE 250 real estate businesses Unite Group (student accommodation) and St.
Modwen (regeneration, logistics and housebuilding). As a result of these roles, he has a broad range
of experience from across the property sector.

Landsec strives to connect communities, realise potential and deliver sustainable places.  As one of
the largest real estate companies in Europe, Landsec’s £10.8 billion portfolio spans 22.1 million sq ft
(as at 30 September 2025) of well-connected retail, leisure, workspace and residential hubs.

Landsec’s aim is to lead the real estate industry in critical long-term issues – from diversity and
community employment, to carbon reduction and climate resilience, and to deliver value for
shareholders, great experiences for customers and positive change for communities.

Mark is a past President of the British Property Federation, an Independent Trustee at the University
of Bristol, and a Non-executive Director on the Board of Whitbread PLC.
