Gerald Parkes and David Higgins hired for government property panel

A panel of seven property experts has been brought together to advise the Government Property Unit on its strategy to cut the public sector deficit through better use of the government estate, as reported in Estates Gazette and Property Week on 3rd March.
The panel will include Gerald Parkes, Imminent Past President of the Society, ex-Lehman Brothers Managing Director and currently CEO of Pacific Real Estate Capital Partners, and David Higgins, Chief Executive of Network Rail and Honorary Vice President of the Society.
Other panel members are outgoing SEGRO chief executive, Ian Coull, Simon Roberts of PwC, Jonathan Lane of Morgan Stanley and David Rossington of the Communities and Local Government. The panel will be chaired by Lord Patrick Carter.
The seven members take on this role in an honorary capacity and it is expected that they will meet with the GPU every six to eight weeks.
